In 2001, Eduardo Opazo, a former executive at Arauco and Sodimac in their timber divisions, together with Arturo Palma who had been his professor in the MBA program at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, founded PTC with the ambition of becoming a leader in the forest products trading and distribution industry.

Shortly thereafter, Ana Salvatierra, a former colleague of Eduardo at Sodimac and Arauco, joined the team to support the company’s growth in the years that followed.

Over time, the organization expanded and became a prominent exporting company within the forest sector in Brazil, with a strong presence in Brazil and in more than 20 countries worldwide.

A deep passion for and knowledge of wood were the driving forces behind PTC’s early development and remain key factors behind its current success. The company’s business scope ranges from production in its own facilities to strategic partnerships with suppliers and customers for the manufacturing and distribution of standardized products.
